If this isn’t the most beautiful, coolest, peaceful, inspiring, interesting thing you will hear this week, then I owe you a burger.
Let me introduce you to Bear’s Den, a beautifully constructed trio from London who have mastered the art of modern folk-inspired tunes. With the perfect hint of nostalgia-soaked emotion, the lilt of delicately picked guitar and banjo, and intricate vocal harmonies that make these guys sound like they all originate from one voice, Bear’s Den is definitely doing something right in a genre that has been over-saturated as of late (thanks to the success of big time banjo-playing acts like Mumford & Sons and Of Monsters & Men). And the difference between these guys and those other ones you’ve heard on the radio a million times? Well, Bear’s Den is able to capture the beautiful simplicity of folk by putting the importance back on the music — and they do so with only three musicians.
They recently performed their song “Bad Blood”, a single off of their debut upcoming EP titled Islands, due out October 21st. Give this acoustic performance a listen and let us know what you think!
Bear’s Den recently announced a slew of tour dates, and they will definitely be gracing the stage of the Casbah in San Diego, CA. Full tour dates are below:
